What changes in the U.S. tax code would you fight for?I support the Liberty Amendment to sell all government property which is not held constitutionally and repeal the 16th Amendment after 3 years to end the federal income, gift and death taxes. www.libertyamendment.org. Pending repeal, I favor a moratorium on the income tax and payroll tax until the end of the depression. There should also be a moratorium on the federal gasoline tax as long as the price is over $2/gallon. Taxes can be reduced further if we bring all of our troops home now, end foreign aid and get the U.S. out of the UN. I will never vote to raise taxes or fees or to impose new taxes or fees. This is a promise to my constituents and the American people, not to any particular individual. I favor reduction and elimination of corporate taxes, since there should eventually be no organizations with limited liability, either private or government corporations. Corporations either pass along taxes or fail. This promise has NO EXPIRATION DATE. It will last as long as I do. -
The unemployment rates in January were down but that was largely because many people had abandoned hope of finding work. What is your message to the long-term unemployed?Vote Libertarian. 1. End legal tender laws, audit and abolish the Federal Reserve System, confiscate criminally obtained Fed property after trials and restore honest money as determined by Art 1 Sec 8 Cl 5 and Art 1 Sec 10 Cl 1 of the Constitution. This act will end the depression and lead us back to prosperity. 2. Abolish federal minimum wages laws. 3. Abolish all government departments and agencies which hinder the flow of commerce. 4. No executive order or bureaucratic regulation which affects any citizen not employed by the government shall go into effect unless it is approved by Congress. 5. End the Civil Service to prevent the cancerous growth of an unelected bureaucracy. By reducing the government to its Constitutional limits, including an end to all foreign military spending and defending the American people in United States, according to the Constitution, the economy will be able to grow to its 19th century level and become a beacon of liberty and prosperity to the world. -
What specific laws, if any, would you like to see enacted to reduce prison recidivism rates? The answer to practically all of our problems is fewer laws, not more. The best way to prevent recidivism is to put fewer people in prison. There are more American prisoners than Red Chinese even though Red China has 5 times as many people as we do. This is an abomination. The Constitution lists only 3 federal crimes, treason, piracy and counterfeiting. We need to repeal all federal drug laws since the Harrison Act of 1914, especially laws against adult use of marijuana even for medicinal purposes, all federal gun laws since Roosevelt's tax on automatic weapons, federal prostitution laws, laws which prevent people from drinking raw milk and all other federal laws which imprison or punish people for acts which do not harm other innocent people. Restitution should be preferred to imprisonment for nonviolent crimes. I favor the death penalty but, like all powers of government, it should be used sparingly, especially when mistakes cannot be corrected. Advise jurors to nullify bad laws. -
Home foreclosures continue to plague Cleveland and other cities across the country. What can the federal government do to battle this crisis? The fed gov should quit its unconstitutional meddling. Abolish the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Association (Freddie Mac), the unconstitutional organizations which coerced the banks into loaning money to noncredit-worthy customers. The bureaucrats responsible for this crime should be brought to trial. Government regulations on banks should be repealed, and they should be subject only to the common law. An honest money system and fundamental tax reform, as I mentioned above, will end the current depression and return prosperity. For almost 100 years, we have ignored the Consitution and allowed the fed gov to grow into a huge sore, almost a cancer, which must be lanced if the American people are to live in liberty, peace and prosperity. Another vitally important measure to restore the America we want is to repeal the PATRIOT ACT, the John Warner Defense Act, and most especially Section 1021 of the Nat Defense Authorization Act.
